MELIS-UPF and Japan’s Riken DBR strengthen their relationship with a biomedical research symposium

On 18 and 19 April, the PRBB will host a symposium open to the public to disseminate research results from Riken BDR in Japan, MELIS-UPF and other centres at the park, like EMBL and CRG.

This year's annual symposium will cover cell dynamics, genomic structure, tissue engineering and live-cell imaging, among others.

A symposium jointly organised by the Department of Medicine and Life Sciences (MELIS-UPF) and the Riken Center for Biosystem Dynamics Research (Rike BDR) of Japan will be held on 18 and 19 April at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) . The event will take place in the PRBB Auditorium and is open to the public, but registration is required. MELIS-UPF is holding its traditional annual symposium, organised since 12 years ago, to present its research. But this time it is collaborating with the Riken BDR in Japan, with which it has been collaborating for years.

The symposium consists of 18 talks, 9 of them on Riken BDR research. The rest will be given by researchers from MELIS-UPF, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory – Barcelona (EMBL Barcelona) and the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG). Topics related to cell dynamics, genomic structure, tissue engineering and live-cell imaging, among others, will be discussed.

There will also be an activity for pre- and post-docs to meet Riken BDR guests. The full programme, list of speakers and all information about the event can be found on the symposium website.
