Making a contribution to Hospital del Mar to fight against the new coronavirus pandemic

Nearly a month has passed since the declaration of the state of alarm in Spain. Confinment measures seem to be working, as the number of deaths by coronavirus seem to have decreased slightly in Spain. But there are still thousands of people that need assistance, and there is a shortage of medical equipment. A couple of weeks ago, the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) and its centres made a contribution to their local hospital, Hospital del Mar, to fight against the new coronavirus pandemic, caused by SARS-CoV-2. The contribution consisted of basic material such as lab coats, masks and gloves.

The basic material donated by the PRBB Animal Facility consisted on:

  • 100 non-sterile white labcoats.
  • 10,000 masks.
  • 70 boxes with 200 nitrile gloves.
  • 58 boxes with 100 latex gloves.

The rest of the PRBB centres also donated their own material.

Thanks everyone for the effort!
