Next February 10-12, 2020, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory – Barcelona (EMBL Barcelona) and the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) are organizing a Winter Conference on Engineering Multicellular Systems. This is the first major project that both research institutes, which have decided to use their synergies to start a collaboration, are doing hand in hand; a symposium that will bring together international experts in multicellular systems.
They have invited 20 top international scientists who will be covering topics related to multicellular systems, bioengineering and how we can build tissues in vitro – all of them ultimately connected to regenerative medicine. Ethics will also be covered, due to the importance – in all scientific fields, but specially those dealing with human health – to meet the highest ethical scientific standards.
Among these top speakers there will be two of EMBL Barcelona’s new recruits: Maria Bernabeu and Kristina Haase, Principal Investigators located at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). Both group leaders and their teams work on in vitro vascular systems.
The Winter Conference will be held in La Pedrera, Barcelona. In order to attend to this symposium, registration is required.
Listen to organisers James Sharpe (EMBL-Barcelona) and Xavier Trepat (IBEC) talking about this conference. You can check more information in the official website.
