The first rays of sunshine on a cool day in late October have bathed the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) in pink and orange, creating an idyllic landscape. The combination of colours, the Park’s distinctive architecture and the reflection of the sky on the auditorium, which almost merges with the sea, create a scene of captivating beauty.
This is surely what Xavier Sanjuan, from the microscopy service of the Department of Medicine and Life Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University (MELIS-UPF), thought on 29 October when he encountered this spectacle of colours at 7:20 in the morning.
Amidst the silence, calm and light of a new day just beginning, the PRBB is waking up. And with it, the residents are inspired by the same light that, for a few moments, transforms the PRBB into a work of art.
