“Meet the companies”: a chance to boost your career

In this yearly event, PRBB residents get to know professional opportunities beyond academia through informal conversations with companies on a wide range of areas in the biomedical and biotech sector.

A career in science is not always lineal, nor does it necessarily mean to stay in academia forever. Public-private collaboration is important, there are plenty of roles beyond the bench which are essential for science to advance, and tones of jobs that need people with a scientific training.

For those residents at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) who are thinking about their next career move, or who are simply curious about different opportunities for science professionals, the “Meet the companies” event comes back to the PRBB for the 4th consecutive year.

Next November 4th from 3 to 5pm, the park’s residents will once again have the chance to learn about job opportunities beyond academia through informal conversations with about a dozen companies from different areas of the research and biotech sector. The companies work on a great variety of topics, from diagnosis or treatment through gene editing to investments and venture capital, patenting, scientific training, research management, science communication or citizen science.

During the afternoon, residents will have a chance to get to know more about the companies, what they do, and the types of profiles they are interested in. Registration is open here.

The companies participating so far are:

Euraxess Catalonia (www.euraxess.cat), a support network for the mobility and career development of researchers coordinated by AGAUR, will be also participating in the event.

This unique chance to engage directly with company professionals, in a relaxed and informative setting, is organised by the PRBB centres and the Intervals programm. It is a complementary event to the “Career month“, also organised by Intervals and all the centers.
