The building that houses the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) is very distinctive and emblematic, but it is not what really defines the Park. It is our vibrant community that gives life to the ecosystem that drives the research that defines us.
Trying to define the Park is a complicated task because of the complexity and diversity of our residents and the work they do, but not impossible. Ramon Balagué and Alan Combellack of the production company Minifilms TV have succeeded and have captured it in the new institutional video of the PRBB.
In the first part of the video we take a tour of several laboratories and equipment, while we discover the characteristics that define us. In the second part, we see an interview with the general director of the PRBB, Jordi Camí. A conversation where we will discover how the idea of a biomedical research park was conceived until it became a reality and what we are today.
This photo of the week was taken during the video recording process. On the right of the image we see Alan filming Carlotta Viana, from the Reprogramming & Regeneration lab led by Pia Cosma at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG). She was capturing images of leukaemic cells for a project that aims to find a chromatin signature characteristic of cells with cancer potential.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who took part in the filming of this video, as well as to Minifilms TV for the direction and production – we hope you all enjoy it!
