Today, Friday, June 28, the “Pride walk” was held to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which gave rise to the LGTBIQA+ Pride movement.
This initiative, originating from the Gender Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI) Committee of the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in collaboration with the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) and the LGBTQIA+ Group of the Park, brought together around thirty people for a 4.4 km walk; from the PRBB to the W Hotel and back.
Upon their return, the Park residents were able to rehydrate themselves with water and regain strength with fresh fruit. This moment also served to raise funds for the ACATHI organization, based in Barcelona, which focuses on the inclusion and support of LGTBIAQ+ refugees and migrants.
This proposal adds to the various activities that the PRBB celebrates throughout the year to make the Park a more inclusive space. These include the LGTBIAQ+ Film Forum, which has already screened 4 films this year and will resume its activities in September.
Only by walking together we can achieve a more open and diverse world! 🏳️🌈
