On June 11, the new projects that will be financed by La Marató de TV3 were made public. This is an initiative that since 1992 has appealed to the Catalan society to raise funds for medical research.
In the 2020 edition, nearly fourteen million euros were raised for research related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Among the 229 projects submitted for funding, only 36 have been selected, 8 of them with the participation of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) centers. In addition, the park was one of the sets where part of the final program of La Marató was recorded: here you can see the artists Eloi Vila, Buhos, Suu, Stay Homas or Lildami on the terrace of the PRBB auditorium during the recording!
Three projects of the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) were selected, as well as two projects at the CNAG-Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), two projects led by Department of Experimental and Health Sciences, Pompeu Fabra University (DCEXS-UPF) and one that will be carried out by research teams at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal).
You can read more about these projects in the Catalan version of this article.
