“I breathe space through emotion, its beauty, its light, its shapes, the materials, the textures. I always seek that connection. Through the camera, everything is different: there’s a level of mismatch with what we expect, allowing you to dislocate the space, create atmospheres, and find movement in what is static.” These words from Maria Pujol, the photo’s author, reflect her passion for the art of photography and connect us with the essence of our building.
Her choice to photograph the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) stems from its proximity to the sea, its architecture blending with the surroundings, and especially the vibrations and reflections that emerge from the sheet of water on the auditorium’s roof, which Maria describes as “magical.”
Specializing in interior design, architecture, and portrait photography, Maria continues to discover and experiment daily with new ways of capturing spaces and people. “I like to mix the descriptive with the expressive. In this case, it’s a completely expressive image,” she explains.
Thank you, Maria, for reflecting the PRBB so beautifully!
