There is often talk about the dark and mysterious hidden side of the Moon, but what we did not expect was to find it by looking through a microscope!
The image, sent by Marta Vila from the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG), shows a group of mouse stem cells growing on their “nutrient cells” that provide them with factors that help them maintain pluripotency – their ability to give rise to different types of cells.
So, on the next moonless night, you already know where to look … grab a microscope!
