Under the slogan “Som PRBB. We are scientists”, the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) and its centers celebrate their annual festival of scientific outreach for the whole family during the last week of October.
Through four main types of actions, this inspiring environment for life sciences and biomedical research aims to promote scientific vocations, to transmit the importance of scientific thought and to show what is behind this great scientific infrastructure on the beach of Barcelona.
From 26 to 31 October you’ll find 20 “science capsules” that will bring you closer to the research we do here every day.
A programme made for you
On Monday, October 26 at 11am, the short film “We are scientists” premieres. An intimate portrait with a gender perspective of life at the PRBB.
Every day, six Youtubers – La Gata de Schrödinger, El Robot de Platón, Sizematters, Diario de un MIR, La Hiperactina and Raíz de Pi – will lead a live interview with a researcher from each of the six centres at the PRBB, through the PRBB profiles in Instagram and Facebook.
Throughout the week we will publish videos created by the researchers themselves. Some show us their laboratory with virtual “Lab tours” and the bravest present us their “Failed Experiments“.

The PRBB centers that participate in the #OpenPRBB are the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM), the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences, Pompeu Fabra University (DCEXS-UPF), the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), the Institute for Evolutionary Biology (IBE: CSIC-UPF) and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory – Barcelona (EMBL Barcelona). All activities are carried out with the support of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona.
