Creu de Sant Jordi for the PRBB director

The first photo of this year’s week shows the director of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), the doctor and professor of Pharmacology Jordi Camí i Morell, receiving the Creu de Sant Jordi 2024 from the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, and the Minister of Culture, Sònia Hernández, at the award ceremony that took place on December 23 at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya.

Among the 20 Catalan personalities who received the award – actors, athletes, journalists, politicians, musicians, poets and even a casteller and a youtuber and social activist – the director of the PRBB has been chosen “for his relevant scientific and social work, for his contributions to improving our quality of life and for his involvement in the creation and management of scientific equipment of international scope that have contributed to Catalonia’s leadership and excellence in biomedical research”.

A specialist in neurosciences, drug addiction and cognition, he founded and directs the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park, was the promoter and manager of the biomedicine studies at the Pompeu Fabra University and of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation. You can read more about his contributions here.
