Heura did her Bachelor in Biology at the University of Girona (2010-2014), then a Masters on Genetics and Genomics from the University of Barcelona. Her project was on the Hippo pathway during Planarian homeostasis. She later started working as a Research Technician at the James Sharpe laboratory in the CRG (2016) and a year later the whole lab moved to the new EMBL Barcelona, where Sharpe is currently director.
