Aix\u00f2 passa, per exemple, en les <strong>dem\u00e8ncies<\/strong>, que per aquest motiu no tenen un marcador clar que ajudi a diagnosticar-les i tractar-les. \u201c<strong>A les malalties complexes \u00e9s molt dif\u00edcil tenir biomarcadors gen\u00e8tics<\/strong>. Sovint estan determinades per m\u00faltiples gens i hi ha molt de soroll de fons\u201d, explica <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ellipse.prbb.org\/ca\/jordi-garcia-ojalvo-dcexs-upf-volem-crear-models-acurats-i-personalitzats-del-cervell-de-cada-pacient\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jordi Garcia-Ojalvo<\/a><\/strong>, director del <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upf.edu\/web\/dsb\" target=\"_blank\">Laboratori de Biologia de Sistemes Din\u00e0mics<\/a> al <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upf.edu\/web\/biomed\" target=\"_blank\">Departament de Medicina i Ci\u00e8ncies de la vida, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (MELIS-UPF)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garc\u00eda-Ojalvo \u00e9s un dels investigadors principals d&#8217;un estudi internacional que ha desenvolupat una eina per poder analitzar aquest tipus de malalties. Es tracta d&#8217;<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upf.edu\/web\/biomed\/inici\/ca\/-\/asset_publisher\/Us0jfwFAevmx\/content\/l-an%C3%A0lisi-de-xarxes-biol%C3%B2giques-permet-entendre-la-complexitat-de-l-esclerosi-m%C3%BAltiple\/10193\/maximized\" target=\"_blank\">una eina computacional que permet relacionar diferents escales biol\u00f2giques<\/a><\/strong>, tant microsc\u00f2piques, com els gens i les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules, com macrosc\u00f2piques, com els teixits o el comportament. Aquest estudi ha estat coliderat des del MELIS-UPF i l&#8217;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imim.es\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hospital del Mar Research Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Els investigadors han fet servir aquest tipus d&#8217;an\u00e0lisi per estudiar l&#8217;<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ellipse.prbb.org\/ca\/mes-a-prop-de-personalitzar-el-tractament-de-lesclerosi-multiple\/\" target=\"_blank\">esclerosi m\u00faltiple<\/a><\/strong>, una malaltia autoimmune de causa desconeguda que afecta el teixit neuronal i provoca una discapacitat significativa. Alguns estudis ja havien intentat <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ellipse.prbb.org\/ca\/un-servidor-web-per-estudiar-les-xarxes-de-proteines-en-malalties\/\" target=\"_blank\">integrar xarxes biol\u00f2giques per entendre la malaltia<\/a>, sobretot intentant relacionar l&#8217;efecte de diversos gens. Per\u00f2 <strong>mai abans no s&#8217;havia fet un estudi que relacioni diferents nivells<\/strong>. S&#8217;ha analitzat la relaci\u00f3 entre <strong>gens, prote\u00efnes, c\u00e8l\u00b7lules, teixits<\/strong> (a trav\u00e9s d&#8217;imatges cerebrals i de la retina) <strong>i el comportament<\/strong> en 328 pacients i 90 individus sans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cAmb aquesta an\u00e0lisi de xarxes en 5 nivells (gens, prote\u00efnes, c\u00e8l\u00b7lules, \u00f2rgans i comportament), hem aconseguit identificar quins elements de les diferents escales estan relacionats a nivell biol\u00f2gic\u201d<br><strong>Jordi Garc\u00eda-Ojalvo<\/strong> (MELIS-UPF)&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amb aquest enfocament de xarxes multinivell s&#8217;ha aconseguit <strong>revelar una relaci\u00f3 entre la prote\u00efna MK03<\/strong>, pr\u00e8viament associada a l&#8217;esclerosi m\u00faltiple, el recompte de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules T del sistema immune, el gruix de la capa de fibres nervioses de la retina i la velocitat en qu\u00e8 la persona pot caminar. Aquest descobriment \u00e9s<strong> un pas m\u00e9s cap a la identificaci\u00f3 d&#8217;un biomarcador<\/strong> que ajudi a <strong>diagnosticar i cercar un tractament<\/strong> per a la malaltia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA les malalties complexes succeeixen moltes coses alhora, i ho fan a m\u00faltiples escales i al llarg del temps. Per aix\u00f2 els \u00e9ssers humans, tant personal investigador com m\u00e8dic, dif\u00edcilment podem visualitzar-ho si no \u00e9s amb aquest tipus d&#8217;eines que ens permeten discernir i identificar els elements que hi estan relacionats\u201d, explica <strong>Pablo Villoslada<\/strong>, investigador de l&#8217;Hospital del Mar que ha codirigit l&#8217;estudi amb Garc\u00eda-Ojalvo.
